My Recent Shopping Trip To Harris Teeter (Yay for Super Double Coupons!)

Do I love Harris Teeter super double coupon week or what?! I took advantage of this week's good deals & stocked up on lots of frozen foods, taco kits and a few other things. My husband was happy to see I brought home lots of guy friendly food-pizza, mexican food & easy, ready to serve breakfasts foods...plus , there were more great deals on milk & some toiletries.
    • Note: I am now all stocked up on milk (we have 4 half gallons & since it's just the 2 of us & we only use milk for cereal, we don't go through it very quickly.) Thankfully, 'Smart Balance' milk seems to last longer than others AND I'm trying my hand at freezing one of the cartons. I was told I can freeze the carton, take it out and put it in the sink the night before I want to use it & it should be defrosted by the a.m-the expiration date restarts once the milk is thawed. I'll let you know how it goes!

Now, I admit that what I bought this week is not the "healthiest", freshest or most organic food I've bought...but let's be honest:  1) I don't always feel like cooking 2) We're busy, so we love heat & serve foods for those crazy days 3) I definitely don't cook before 9am in the morning-so thank goodness for Aunt Jemima's frozen breakfast foods :)

I realized after putting these groceries away that I was starting to get a rather large stockpile for many items-larger than my little family needs. So, I gathered a huge bag of things that I'll be giving away. I never want my ability/desire to save money for my family to be seen as hoarding & I never want to be wasteful. If someone else can use what I have excess of, then that sounds good to me!

How did you save this week? I'd love to hear  (or see)!!

Enjoy!!
