Somtimes, preparing for a shopping trip can actually take longer than the actual shopping trip! Especially when your favorite grocery store is running super double coupon week (and you have to alternate planning the trip & taking care of a baby)!
When I know that Harris Teeter will be running their 'Super Double Coupon' week (when they will double all coupons up to and including $1.98), I spend time going through their weekly ad, their unadvertised deals & their VIC card specials, then finding the appropriate coupons.
Sometimes I feel like I'm doing my 'homework'-with my calculator, my coupon binder, my printable coupons I plan on using & my shopping list. (You can see how I organize my very simple coupon binder HERE)
But I know, that the "paperwork" of planning my shopping trip will be worth it in the end.
I think about it this way:
Let's say it takes me 2 hours to plan my shopping trip. And then I save $100 at that trip, I have technically made $50/hour! What other kind of job can do that for me?!
Do you shop from a list? Do you know exactly what you're buying before you get to the store?
Besides spending less time in the stores, those who shop from a detailed list also spend less money overall.
So here's to saving time & money!
