Save More So You Can Give More: Operation Christmas Child 2011

One of the best things about living frugally & using coupons is the ability to give freely.  Since 1993, Samaritan's Purse has been changing the lives of children through Operation Christmas Child.

Operation Christmas Child is a unique project of Samaritan’s Purse that brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes, It provides an opportunity for people of all ages to be involved in a simple but hands-on project that has the power to transform children’s lives.

There are 3,000 drop-off locations across the country. It’s a fun way to help others, get your kids involved and you can even see where your box travels. Click here to learn how to pack a box, and learn what you can include in a box.

National Collection Week is November 14 – 21, 2011 when the 3,000 drop-off locations will be open to collect the shoe boxes. The international goal for 2011 is 8.5 million shoe box gifts; our U.S. goal is 5.8 million gifts.

Let's keep our eyes open for great freebies & deals we can grab to start packing our shoe boxes so we can meet this goal!  I'll start pointing out deals on the blog that would be perfect to donate!
